Innovation Challenge to Ottawa Engineers and Engineering Students
Road safety of pedestrians is of great importance to city transportation officials. The City of Ottawa recently approved the 2020-2024 Road Safety Action Plan, which is an integrated, comprehensive and proactive strategy for making roads safer for all users.
The Ottawa PEO Innovation team is announcing the fourth challenge to engineers and engineering students in Ottawa to develop new innovative technologies or concepts to address pedestrian safety at road intersections from transportation (trucks, buses, cars and motorcycles).
The challenge will be held on May 11, 2020 at Ben Franklin Place, in conjunction with National Road Safety Week. The selected innovators will present to an expert panel of judges and scored on both the details of their technical and business proposal. Monetary awards will be made to the first, second and third place winners.
Please send your proposals with brief technical details (150-200 words) to firstname.lastname@example.org and Omar.Choudhry@Ottawa.ca by February 16th, 2020. Successful applicants will be notified by February 20th to proceed with their proposals to present at the challenge meeting in May 2020.
